There are immediate needs and opportunities in order for urban agriculture programs to realize their greatest impact:

  • To increase the number of people engaged in personal and community based food production,
  • To provide training and experience for careers in local food systems, and
  • To develop networks of community based aggregation, processing and distribution enterprises.
